The Artistic Letters.......Starting The Journey

I’ve always gravitated towards the arts since I was a kid and gradually throughout the years I started to become curious with different ways to be creative. Drawing was the window into the start of that curiosity but painting turned that into passion. The Artistic Letters starts with some of my earliest works and showcases the type of progress I learned over 20 years.

One of my earliest pieces is titled, “The Vase”, which was constructed from a concept of see with purpose. The story for this particular piece came from a night laying in bed and a shadow coming into view from looking around. A night light illuminated the room and I remember thinking a painting using the shape of the shadow could be a start to something unique. I started practically working on the concept the next day and the painting itself was worked on that same day.

The ideas around this time after painting this piece were energetically made through journaling and multiple sketchbooks. The better ideas or concepts are the pieces compiled in this book along with extra content I never got published or uploaded online.

If concept was the start to the art journey to compel me to start learning then color theory fascinated me enough to never limit my pallette. I fell in love with use of color so much that from my first painting to now I decided to never limit the color spectrum especially if a story can carry on through that idea.

Finally bringing in both concept + color allowed for framing/perspective but that’s to be included in the next blog. Part 3 (the conclusion) is coming soon which I go into detail what holds everything together for me but gives the ideas purpose for my continuing search and curiosity into creative concepts.
